I recently bought some Chocolate Hazelnut butter and noticed there are white crystals on the top. What are these, and is the product still safe to eat?Updated 4 months ago

No need to worry, what you're seeing isn't mould – it's just separation of the cocoa butter. Give the product a good stir, and it should disappear. It's a natural occurrence, especially when there are temperature changes, a bit like the blooming you see on chocolate. As we only use natural ingredients, there's nothing added to prevent this from happening.

Your product is totally safe to enjoy, but if needed to help with the mixing, we suggest decanting the spread into a bowl and heating it up in a microwave for 10-20 seconds. We're currently working on adding a note to the label about the natural separation so keep an eye out for that!
