Why am I seeing an SSL error on the app when trying to watch video content?Updated 12 hours ago

We’re really sorry you’re experiencing this! We’ve been investigating and found that the SSL error is most commonly linked to your internet provider or Wi-Fi network and OS, rather than the app itself.

It tends to happen more frequently with providers like British Telecom (BT) or those that run on their network (such as EE), and also with public Wi-Fi connections (like airports, hotels, or schools). We’ve also noticed this can affect users running iOS 18 or 18.5, with Apple due to release a new version in the coming months that we believe will help resolve the issue.

What can I do to fix it?

Try the following steps to get back up and running:

1. Switch networks

  • If you're currently on Wi-Fi, try switching to mobile data, or vice versa.

  • If the app or website works on a different connection, the issue is likely network-related.

2. Contact your internet provider

If you're with BT or EE (or a provider that uses their network), we recommend getting in touch and letting them. Feel free to reach out to us at [email protected] and we'll share more information on how to get in touch with them, and what to say.

From our experience, BT and similar providers are more likely to act when they receive multiple reports—so your message may help speed things along!

3. On a shared network?

If you’re on a school, office, or hotel Wi-Fi, you may need to speak to your network administrator or IT team to request they unblock the URL mentioned above.

Is it an Apple issue too?

Yes — we’ve seen this happen more frequently on iOS versions 18 and 18.5, especially when trying to load video or media content. The good news is that Apple is expected to release a new iOS version soon, ahead of iOS 26 launching this autumn, which should help address the issue.

Can I still use the app or website in the meantime?

  • Yes! Try switching to mobile data or another Wi-Fi network to access everything as usual.

  • 🖥 You can also use the website version of the membership
